Harris Takes Narrow Lead Over Trump in Key Battlegrounds, Poll Shows
A new survey from respected pollsters at the New York Times and Siena College indicates Vice President Kamala Harris may be making up ground against Donald Trump in some critical swing states.
The poll found Harris holding slight advantages over the former president among likely voters in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania - three "blue wall" states that were pivotal to Trump's Electoral College victory in 2020.
Key Findings:
• In MI, WI and PA, Harris leads Trump by 4 points (50% to 46%) among likely voters
• This is within the poll's margin of error of +/- 4.1 percentage points
• The survey marks a reshuffle from earlier this year when President Biden trailed Trump by several points in Michigan and Pennsylvania before his departure from the ticket

Trump Campaign Response:
• Senior advisers dismissed the poll as an "obvious" understatement of the former president's true support
• They accused pollsters of skewing samples to "depress" Trump's numbers, as they claim happened in 2020
The Poll's Other Notes:
• The economy and inflation are ranked as top issues for voters amid recession fears
• But Harris seems to have received an enthusiasm boost with increased donations and volunteering since taking over as the Democratic nominee
Both sides agree that with still over 2 months until Election Day, the race for the White House remains extremely competitive. However, the poll results add to other data suggesting that the once-predicted Trump landslide may not be materializing as his campaign had hoped.
While Trump and Republicans remain confident he will ultimately prevail, these latest numbers underscore how pivotal the swing state battles could be in deciding who wins the Electoral College in November.
