Folks, have you heard about what just went down in Washington? Our representatives in Congress, the ones we sent there to look out for us, just signed off on sending a huge chunk of our hard-earned tax money overseas. We're talking $380 million - that's 380 million of your dollars - now earmarked for border security...in the Middle East.
That massive $1.2 trillion spending package they rushed through behind closed doors? Buried deep in there is $150 million straight to Jordan, with another $230 million split between Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman - all for their border protection efforts. And get this - this money will keep flowing to those nations until September 2025, virtually guaranteeing hundreds of millions more headed that way over the next couple years.
Priorities Out of Whack
Now let's think about this for a second. We're in the midst of an historic crisis right here at home, with illegal border crossings hitting record highs month after month. Just this past February, we saw unprecedented numbers of migrants overwhelming our southern border, with over 200,000 encounters reported by officials.
But instead of using those hundreds of millions to finally construct the border wall system that could help stem that tide, hire more border patrol agents desperately needed on the front lines, or deploy better surveillance technology to get a handle on this chaos, our leaders decided their priorities lie....elsewhere. Overseas, to be exact.
It's basiccommon sense that preserving some level of sovereignty and security here at home should be the bigger priority. But common sense seems to be in short supply in Biden's Washington.

Conservative Criticism
And it's not just me saying this - top conservatives are furious too. Congressman Steve Scalise flat-out accused Congress of "doing border security in foreign countries" while actively "impeding border security in our country." Pretty unbelievable stuff.
Firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene even tried to remove the Republican House Speaker over this "betrayal," as she called it. She filed a motion to vacate Mike Johnson from that position after he helped ram through this budget monstrosity that funds Middle Eastern countries' border efforts over our own.
These conservatives make a fair point - we're in such a heated, never-ending battle over if and how to secure our own borders. Democrats want to grant amnesty and open the floodgates even further, while Republicans push for measures like reviving border wall construction and limiting entries into the interior. But while we're deadlocked in this endless debate, our tax dollars are being funneled across the world as we ignore the raging crisis in our own backyard.
It's utterly nonsensical. We have a moral and Constitutional duty to protect our own nation first. But instead of upholding that responsibility, our leaders are bending over backwards to police the borders of Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt using our hard-earned money.
American Fallout
And let's be clear - this isn't some far-away issue that doesn't impact us here at home. While our tax dollars get diverted abroad for foreign border initiatives, our own communities are grappling with the very real fallout of unfettered illegal immigration. Everything from straining local resources like schools, hospitals and housing, to the economic impacts of suppressed wages and job competition.
Families across America are feeling the squeeze as unchecked Migration pushes down salaries and employment opportunities. Meanwhile, the open borders lobby couldn't care less, as long as their donor class gets a steady stream of cheap foreign labor.
